Okemos Special Needs Day Camp
At Okemos Special Needs Day Camp (OSNDC) it is the goal of all staff to ensure campers have a fun and safe environment to grow as individuals. Two areas of emphasis are socialization and skill development. Our world is a complicated social environment but summer camp is a place where campers can feel safe; safe to meet new friends, safe to be themselves, and safe to engage in new and exciting social activities. Staff will nurture and encourage social development and lead by example, becoming a role model for all campers. Camp is also about developing skills that will be functional for the child for their whole life. Activities will challenge campers to try new things and build a collection of skills they can apply throughout life.
Our camp program is designed to foster a supportive and nurturing atmosphere of social interactions among special needs children. Our goal is to promote an environment of tolerance and respect for each other while enjoying a wide variety of activities.
Don't let your child miss this exciting opportunity to experience an awesome summer!
